Heart for the Nations

I just got back from a week long trip to Guazacapan, Guatemala. I have to say, this is my first time going on an international mission trip, but it will definitely not be my last. After going on this trip, I have a completely different outlook on everything I have in this life. God has blessed me so above and beyond anything I could imagine. I really don't have that much money, I like in a little townhouse with my wife, and I drive a Honda Element. When we compare what we have to celebrities, and those we see on TV flaunting their riches, it doesn't seem like much. But when you visit a Third World Country, and see the smiles on their faces, and the joy in their hearts, even while living in shacks, and eating once every couple days, it really puts things into perspective. I know that God here in America is the same God in Guatemala, and every other struggling nation in our world. His love is extravagant and His glory is being revealed all over the globe. Coming back to the states, I am reminded how blessed we are, and how sad our view of "convenient Christianity" has become. We have to start living like it's worthy dying for. I was part of a worship service in Guatemala, and these people hold nothing back. Their level of faith is inspiring, and I can't say enough about how blown away I am at their hope, love, and contagious joy.
I can't wait to go on another mission trip, and I encourage all of us to live like today might be our last here on Earth.
